Locked In 2023

“Locked In” proves to be just another formulaic Netflix thriller, lacking the essential elements of surprise and excitement. The storyline is overly predictable, hampered by an abundance of flashbacks that needlessly delay the plot’s progression. One of the film’s major shortcomings is its habit of revealing critical plot details through dialogue before showing them in flashbacks, thus robbing the narrative of its mystery and suspense.

The story centers around Katherine, a comatose patient with Locked-In Syndrome, who can only communicate through blinking. As a murder plot unfolds, neuro clinical nurse Nicky Mackenzie takes up the investigation. However, the film later shifts its focus to Lina Carter, Katherine’s adopted daughter, diving into her past and family history.

The central mystery, involving the attempted murder of Katherine, falls flat due to a small and underdeveloped cast of characters. The film’s editing fails to effectively weave flashbacks and present-day scenes together, resulting in a disjointed narrative.

In the end, “Locked In” lacks the thrills and surprises one would expect from a thriller, with a predictable twist and insufficient character development. It’s a forgettable addition to the genre that fails to captivate its audience. Visit afdah movie for more!
